Do Not Sell addon

Note: This addon was renamed from “Do Not Track” to “Do Not Sell” in January 2026 for clarity. All functionality remains the same.

Overview

The Do Not Sell addon for WPConsent enables site administrators to collect, manage, and audit do not sell requests on your WordPress site. Key capabilities include:

  • Configure a dedicated page with customizable forms
  • Define and modify form fields and labels
  • Record requests in a custom database table with local storage
  • Track submission times and processing status
  • Export stored requests with automatic processing options
  • Leverage WPForms integration for spam protection using reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, or Cloudflare Turnstile
  • Full multilanguage support through WPConsent core

The addon launched in June 2025 alongside WPConsent version 1.0.8.

Installation Steps

Method 1: One-Click Installation
Install directly from the Do Not Sell page in the WPConsent WordPress admin menu.

Method 2: Manual Installation

  1. Download the addon from your WPConsent account downloads area
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin in WordPress admin
  3. Upload the package and click Install Now
  4. Activate the plugin
  5. Go to wp-admin > WPConsent > Do Not Sell

The Do Not Sell section contains three tabs:

  • Requests – displays submitted user requests
  • Configuration – customizes settings
  • Export – exports Do Not Sell data

Configuration

Do Not Sell Page Setup
Create a new page with one click; the addon automatically generates the page and inserts the necessary shortcode with default text. Edit the page to customize content.

Form Customization
Enable predefined fields and manage their labels. Use WPConsent’s multilanguage interface to display form labels in different languages.

Spam Protection
The addon integrates with WPForms (free version available). Select your preferred captcha option—reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, or Cloudflare Turnstile—and complete setup according to your chosen service’s documentation.

Usage

After setup, visitors access a dedicated page for submitting do-not-sell requests. Administrators can:

  • View detailed logs with timestamps
  • Export data through the provided interface
  • Mark requests as processed individually, in bulk, or during export

Data Export Process:

  1. Navigate to WPConsent > Do Not Sell > Export Tab
  2. Select start and end dates for records
  3. Optionally mark exported entries as processed automatically
  4. Save the file locally
